Nectar Bat Activity Can Cause Bee Problems At Your Hummingbird Feeder

Have you ever noticed those splotches on your hummingbird feeder the morning after it's been emptied by bats? They're actually the residue of sugar droplets that came from the bats' tongues and snouts while they were feeding. Bees love this residue! When refilling your feeders the morning after a bat feeding frenzy, be sure and rinse the surface with water to help reduce the bee activity.
